SOMERSET, N.J. - Nov. 8, 2004 - Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower, whose 1,149-foot Tower dominates the Las Vegas Strip and is the tallest freestanding observation tower in the United States, is the latest enterprise to deploy Netilla Networks’ SSL VPN solution for simple, secure remote access to applications. The Netilla Security Platform gives Stratosphere executives and staff the freedom to securely access corporate applications and data with just a Web browser – anytime, anyplace.
“After evaluating several SSL VPN systems, we found Netilla to be the easiest to set up and manage,” said Rob Kosier, executive director of information technology for the Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower. “Netilla offered us the best reporting and access control options, which enabled us to provide secure remote access not just to our senior executives, but to outside vendors. Netilla’s V-Realms Client Identity Engine makes it possible for our vendors to access only the applications that are required, without opening up our entire enterprise network.”
“Stratosphere’s use of Netilla has paid off in two important ways: making staff members more productive by giving them secure access to the Stratosphere network from anywhere, while allowing outside vendors selective access to the specific applications they require,” said Reggie Best, president and CEO of Netilla Networks.
Stratosphere is using its Netilla Security Platform to deliver highly secure remote access to a range of Web-based and traditional server-based applications, including standard Windows applications as well as specialized gaming and hospitality programs. The Netilla solution is especially useful for Stratosphere’s executives, who frequently travel to the company’s properties in Atlantic City, N.J. Netilla lets executives do much more than simply check email: they can use the same versions of the same applications running on their PC back in the office, with full access to all their files and data.
Another key benefit of the Netilla solution is that it gives Stratosphere the flexibility to grant outside vendors browser-based access only to those specific Stratosphere applications necessary to do their job. Kosier noted: “Previously our vendors were on dial-up lines, which were slow and expensive. Netilla’s Web-based approach is a much more effective solution that also lets us provide granular access to applications.”
Stratosphere's deployment of our Netilla Security Platform demonstrates just how quickly the Netilla solution can be set up to support executive staff and personnel based anywhere,” said Anthony Rocca, Netilla's director of western region sales. “It also demonstrates that world-class organizations see the benefits that our secure access products provide in terms of simplicity, security and value."
The Netilla Security Platform is marketed exclusively through the channel via a network of Netilla Certified Solution Providers. Software Plus, an authorized Netilla value-added reseller in Las Vegas, designed and implemented Stratosphere's Netilla solution.
“Perhaps the most remarkable aspect of Stratosphere's implementation is the fact that it took just a few hours for us to set up and activate Netilla,” said Rick Pogue, west coast regional director at Software Plus. “Netilla's simplicity is a major benefit for corporate IT departments, while its intuitive operation makes it a snap for their end users to work remotely.”
Netilla's products allow an organization's employees or business partners to securely access their business applications and networks using standard Web browsers, requiring no special software. Netilla offers two SSL VPN product families: its flagship Netilla Security Platform (NSP) and the new Secure Gateway Appliance (SGA) line, which provides access to specific applications at prices starting under $5,000. Delivering unmatched flexibility and ease of use, the enterprise-class NSP family enables secure remote access to virtually any application for up to 2,000 simultaneous users. All Netilla systems incorporate the dynaTRUST policy-enforcement operating system and the Netilla V-Realms TM Client Identity Engine, which enforces multiple sets of unique authentication and authorization policies for distinct user groups.
