SOMERSET, N.J. - June 7, 2004 - Netilla ® Networks, Inc.,
a leading provider of SSL VPN and secure application access management solutions, and Alternative Technology, Inc., its U.S. distributor, have announced a comprehensive marketing campaign to provide Alternative’s nationwide network of value-added resellers (VARs) with streamlined access to Netilla’s unique SSL VPN solution.
The “Netilla-Alternative Partner Campaign”, which kicks off today, enables Alternative’s existing VARs to become Netilla resellers at no upfront cost outlay, while offering them a full range of tools and incentives to effectively market the Netilla Security Platform SSL VPN to mid-sized enterprise customers. Any qualified Alternative VAR can immediately join the program by applying their universal vouchers for the Customer Partner Program, Alternative’s frequent-buyer plan for its resellers.

Netilla is the leading provider of SSL VPN secure remote access solutions to the mid-enterprise market, with broad deployments in vertical markets such as health care, retail, finance, manufacturing, government and education. The Netilla Security Platform has achieved ICSA Labs certification, which included passing its stringent Cryptography Product Certification Program requirements. Netilla provides the broadest range of secure remote application access, encompassing legacy client/server, web/intranet and “fat client” applications. The Netilla dynaTRUST policy-enforcement operating environment authenticates users on the basis of identity, entitlements, environment and client integrity.
The Netilla Security Platform (NSP) provides this secure remote access by using a PC’s standard Web browser as a “portal” into the school or university’s computer network. Once they gain access, students or teachers can use any applications just as they would if they were on campus. Unlike earlier generations of VPN (virtual private network) technology, Netilla requires no special VPN software to be configured onto a user’s PC, thus enabling secure access from anywhere – even kiosks and Internet cafes. The NSP includes its own security safeguards and integrates with leading authentication vendors to provide multilayered security.
Minimum Outlay, Maximum Impact: How The Netilla-Alternative Partner Campaign Works
Existing Alternative resellers who meet the campaign’s mid-sized enterprise customer guidelines can sign up for the Netilla-Alternative Partner Campaign from now through July 31, 2004.
Resellers receive these benefits:
- One not-for-resale (NFR) unit of Netilla Security Platform for customer demo use;
- Technical and sales training;
- Ability to take the Netilla Certified Engineer (NCE) exam at no cost (See separate Netilla announcement today);
- A marketing case study (co-branded by Netilla and the VAR) for key new customers acquired; and,
- The ability to use Alternative universal vouchers as market development funds (MDF) to fuel Netilla-related outreach efforts.
Performance Incentives
The Netilla-Advantage Partner Campaign will run through Dec. 31, 2004. Upon program completion, Netilla and Alternative will recognize the top-performing VARs as follows:
- Any participating VAR with Netilla revenues of at least $30,000 in the first three months of joining the program and at least $60,000 in the following three months (or by Dec. 31, 2004) will be recognized as an official Netilla Channel Partner. Netilla will thereupon reimburse these resellers for all of the Alternative universal vouchers used during the program.
- Netilla and Alternative will jointly select the three participants that have met the above criteria, that also represent the most outstanding salesmanship and partnering. Winners will receive $5,000 (first place), $3,000 (second place), or $2,500 (third place).
- The overall top-selling participating VAR will win the grand prize of an all-expense-paid trip to an Atlantic City casino (3 days, 3 nights, for up to 4 people).
