Netilla Networks Forms European Subsidiary To Meet Growing Demand For Its SSL VPN Solutions

Jan Vekemans Appointed Managing Director, Netilla Networks Europe, Ltd.

SOMERSET, N.J. – Nov. 24, 2003 - Netilla Networks, Inc., a leading provider of SSL VPN and secure application access management solutions, today announced the formation of a wholly-owned sales and marketing subsidiary, Netilla Networks Europe, Ltd., to address the rapidly growing demand for its Netilla Security Platform solutions. The company named Jan Vekemans, a veteran of the European networking and security marketplace, as managing director for Europe.

Vekemans, based in Belgium, will direct Netilla's European sales and marketing efforts, including its relationships with distributors, resellers, and customers. Netilla relies exclusively on the channel to market its products and has established a network of ten leading networking and security distributors to provide pan-European coverage.

Under his leadership Netilla will enhance its already-strong European presence, which spans a range of vertical markets including government, manufacturing and telecom. The Netherlands' Ministry of Transportation, for example, uses Netilla's browser-based remote access solution to allow its workers and contractors around the world to access key applications securely via standard Web browsers. In the U.K., Reed Exhibitions, a division of Reed Elsevier and the world's largest trade show organizer, uses Netilla to let its third-party suppliers gain secure access to its customized applications without having to install software on remote PCs.

"There's a huge untapped market here for Netilla's solution because it addresses both security and remote connectivity to critical enterprise data," said Vekemans. "European enterprises are quickly coming to realize the importance of extending application access to remote and mobile workers, while protecting the integrity of their network. While Netilla offers an industry-leading SSL VPN solution, what really sets it apart is its patent-pending dynaTRUST policy enforcement operating system, which lets customers establish trust-based adaptive access for all authorized enterprise users - remote, onsite or trusted partner."

Before joining Netilla, Mr. Vekemans was director for Benelux, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe at Baltimore Technologies, a London-based provider of security solutions for e-business; his achievements there included deployments at T-Mobile, ING Bank and Siemens. Before Baltimore Technologies, Vekemans served as vice president of business development at VASCO Data Security, a leading identity management and authorization systems vendor, where he forged partnerships with of Shiva, Intel, Cisco, Novell and other industry leaders. He also served in various executive capacities at Xerox Engineering Systems and Celo Communications.

"Europe already accounts for about 20 percent of our total revenues, and now, under Jan's direction, we'll have the ability to aggressively execute our sales and marketing efforts and to react quickly to changing conditions," said Reggie Best, president and CEO of Netilla Networks. "Jan's deep understanding of the European marketplace and proven ability to help companies grow will be a tremendous advantages for Netilla, our channel partners and our customers."

The Netilla Security Platform Release 4 combines three secure application access modes: browser-based access to client-server applications (Windows, UNIX, Linux or mainframe), Web-based and Intranet applications, and network-layer access via the Netilla Virtual Adapter that allows PC-based applications to exchange data with central servers through an SSL tunnel.
