SOMERSET, N.J. – October 14, 2003 –
Netilla Networks, Inc., a leading provider of SSL VPN and secure application
access management solutions, today announced that Children’s
Specialized Hospital, an affiliate member of the Robert Wood Johnson
Health System, has implemented Netilla’s Web-based platform
to provide its administrative and support staff with secure remote
access across its entire network.
Originally founded as a respite for ailing city children in the 1890’s,
Children’s Specialized Hospital has since grown to become the
largest pediatric rehabilitation hospital in the United States. With
more than 1,000 employees in two hospitals, three out-patient centers
and three individual practices across New Jersey, the hospital selected
the Netilla Security Platform G-Class to provide its staff with access
to mission-critical information regardless of their location.
“We needed a solution that would allow our staff the flexibility
to work from home, travel and attend conferences – all while
offering the highest level of security in accessing their e-mail and
internal applications,” said Pat DeMartino, Director of Information
Systems and CIO for Children’s Specialized Hospital. “We
were using PCAnywhere, but found that Netilla offered a higher degree
of flexibility, security and ease of use. There’s no client software
to load, the install was fast, and support for the product is easy.
It’s been a great success.”
Through Netilla, Children’s Hospital administrative staff and
approved third-party vendors can securely connect to centralized hospital
applications including e-mail, Microsoft applications and access to
personal folders on the network. The Netilla solution allows the IT
staff the ability to support the hospital’s registration system,
order entry and patient accounting software remotely and during off
hours.
The Netilla Security Platform uses SSL encryption — the security
technology embedded in today’s Web browsers — for secure
access to remotely hosted applications. By eliminating the time and
cost of installing applications on the remote user’s PC and providing
a more intuitive user experience, Netilla’s versatile Web-based
approach marks a significant advance over existing VPN remote access
solutions.
“
Our solution provides healthcare organizations with the ability to
securely and easily access medical information regardless of location,” said
Reggie Best, president and CEO of Netilla Networks. “Healthcare
organizations can provide better patient services, attract the best
doctors and care givers and maximize a medical provider’s time.
Netilla’s platform is the ideal solution to provide secure remote
access to enterprise applications and to enforce security policies
for all users.
The Netilla Security Platform Release 4 combines three secure application
access modes: browser-based access to client-server applications (Windows,
UNIX, Linux or mainframe), Web-based and Intranet applications, and
network-layer access via the Netilla Virtual Adapter that allows PC-based
applications to exchange data with central servers via an SSL tunnel.
Netilla’s dynaTRUST operating system enforces enterprise security
policies and provisions trust-based access to network resources on
the basis of four key variables: a user’s identity, entitlements,
environment and client integrity.
