INFOSECURITY EUROPE 2003, London – Apr. 29, 2003 – Netilla® Networks,
Inc., a leading provider of SSL-based virtual private network (VPN)
products for secure Web-based access to any centralized application,
has partnered with Signify, a provider of Secure Identity Management
and Authentication services, to deliver a secure, simple and affordable
solution to the challenges of remote access.
Visitors to Stand 35 will see a working demonstration of a comprehensive,
secure, remote access solution using Netilla’s SSL VPN solution
and the Signify Authentication Service.
The growing need for secure remote access applies not just to employees
based outside the enterprise – who may be working either from
home or on the road – but also to a company’s partners,
suppliers and customers who need access to corporate data over the
public and private network. Furthermore, users face multiple corporate
applications, e-business interfaces and Web services, many of which
require a unique user name. As a result, an individual typically possesses
not one but several digital identities.
It is critical for companies to manage and control authorized identities
to ensure that the right people are given access to the right information
seamlessly, regardless of location. Organizations must assess their
identity management needs to develop a reliable solution that can
integrate into the existing IT framework. John Stewart, CEO at Signify,
comments, “To date, only large organizations with 500+ remote
users and 24x7 helpdesks could afford to run genuinely secure remote
access systems. The solution developed by Netilla Networks and Signify
makes ‘corporate strength’ secure remote access affordable
and accessible to organizations of all sizes, from as few as five
people.”
The Netilla Security Platform provides highly secure remote access
to legacy applications using the SSL encryption provided by standard
Web browsers, providing companies with a rapid-deployment solution
that does not require extensive modifications to existing application
servers and security mechanisms. Reggie Best, president and CEO of
Netilla Networks, comments, “This marks a significant advance
over existing VPN alternatives by eliminating the time and cost of
installing VPN client or application software on the remote user’s
PC.”
But delivering secure identity management requires more than just
technology. Through its partnership with Signify, Netilla can provide
its customers with even higher levels of security by implementing policy-based
procedures to ensure that their users’ on-line identities are
secure and can be trusted at all times. The Netilla SecureRealm FrameworkÔ,
which allows the creation of multiple authentication and authorization
user realms, allows the Signify solution to be seamlessly integrated
with the Netilla Security Platform.
Delivery of these solutions is managed through joint channel partners.
Paul McKinley, director at LANsition, a specialist integrator concludes, “With
our Netilla product range and Signify’s managed authentication
service, this partnership enables LANsition to offer a complete, end
to end secure remote access solution to the enterprise”.
