LANsition, Netilla's U.K. Reseller, Showcases Benefits of Secure,
Browser-Based Remote Access to Corporate Applications
INTERNET WORLD NORTH 2002, MANCHESTER, U.K. - Nov. 6, 2002 - Netilla®
Networks, the premier provider of SSL Web-based VPN platforms, today
introduced its clientless remote access solution to the U.K. market.
LANsition, a U.K.-based Netilla integrator, is demonstrating the unique
value of the Netilla Security Platform at stand 340 here at Internet
World North 2002.
The Netilla Security Platform lets enterprises easily provide their
remote or mobile workers with secure access over any Web browser to
both Web-based and non-Web applications on the corporate network. Netilla's
Web-based "thin client" approach marks a significant advance
over existing virtual private networking (VPN) alternatives by eliminating
the time and cost of installing applications on the remote user's PC.
Remote users access corporate applications using the Secure Sockets
Layer (SSL) encryption built in to today's Web browsers. Companies can
install the Netilla network appliance in just a few hours without modifying
their existing IT infrastructure.
"We're seeing very strong interest from U.K. companies of all
sizes who need to provide secure remote access to their employees -
but without the problems of traditional IPSec VPNs," said Calum
MacLeod, Netilla's director of European operations. "We're fortunate
to be working with LANsition, a U.K. reseller with the reputation and
proven expertise to bring British companies the same benefits of instant
remote access that our U.S. customers already enjoy."
"After evaluating a number of SSL VPN providers, LANsition selected
Netilla because it offers the most comprehensive and versatile solution
on the market today," said Steve Jennings, business development
manager at LANsition. "Many of our customers need to provide remote
access to the existing legacy applications they run their business on,
and Netilla does that beautifully. The system is very simple for end
users as well as the network administrator. We anticipate rapid implementation
of Netilla by our customers, because this product takes the headaches
out of deploying a remote-access VPN."
LANsition's Netilla demo shows how easy it is for a user to access
centralized corporate applications over a secure browser connection.
The Netilla Security Platform consists of a hardened Linux-based network
appliance that provides browser-based access to almost any corporate
application, whether it is Microsoft® Windows®-, UNIX-, Linux-
or even mainframe-based. The Netilla platform provides multi-stage authentication
to external servers such as RSA Ace, RADIUS and Windows, and restricts
users' views to only their authorized applications. Since it is designed
as a network appliance, the Netilla platform can be installed in just
hours with no modification to the existing IT network or applications.
LANsition will carry Netilla's full product line and will provide installation,
maintenance and support to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
