SOMERSET, N.J., May 14, 2002
Netilla Networks, Inc., (www.netilla.com), the networking services company
that supplies secure remote access to applications, files and data over
the Internet, today announced that the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX)
has selected the Netilla Security Platform for its remote access implementation.
Employees at the securities exchange can now access main-office resources
while at home, from remote offices, or while traveling around the country
- with the strict security requirements essential to the financial community.
"The Netilla Security Platform provides us with an ideal solution
that directly addresses our mobile workforce and remote connectivity
needs," said Frank Reidy, First Vice President, Information Technology
for the PHLX. "Now, our employees and network support department
have immediate, secure access to our entire array of office applications
and data, running on Microsoft Windows servers. The Netilla solution
allows us to effectively replicate our workplace environment for use
from any location, while ensuring the utmost level of security."
Using any Web browser, the client-less Netilla solution authorizes
and authenticates user access to any server-based application through
SSL-encrypted transmissions. The platform delivers greater productivity
while maintaining privacy for sensitive information. When compared to
traditional VPN, server-based computing and private networking alternatives,
the Netilla Security Platform is more cost-effective and easier to manage.
"Our remote employees can also collaborate on business issues
and office documents with our main office staff," said Reidy, adding
that the MIS department is now employing the Web remote access solution
to access the exchange's test platforms for development and scheduling.
"The Netilla platform provides a tremendous productivity improvement."
"The Netilla Security Platform is an ideal fit for a security-conscious,
multi-platform network environment like the Philadelphia Stock Exchange,"
said Reggie Best, CEO and President of Netilla Networks. "Our solution
allows secure access to confidential data from a variety of distributed
locations through a single Web-based interface, and it provides the
high level of privacy that the financial community needs. I am delighted
that we were able to meet the demanding requirements of the exchange,
and add such a respected establishment to our growing base of financial
services customers."
According to Gene Peters, PHLX Director of Information Services, the
exchange had considered several remote access alternatives prior to
being introduced to the Netilla Security Platform. Once he and the team
saw Netilla, though, they were won over by the greater security and
ease of management provided by the Netilla solution.
"Our users need to access applications and information from all
over the country - on the road, from hotels," said Peters. "We
needed a reliable, easy to manage, secure solution, and the Netilla
platform met all of our criteria. It was an easy choice."
