Netilla(sm) Networks, Inc. (www.netilla.com), the networking service
company that supplies secure Web access to office applications, today
announced the general availability of Netilla Virtual Office® service,
its complete solution for secure remote access to applications, files
and e-mail residing on office-network servers. With Netilla Virtual
Office service the Web becomes a secure "extension cord" to
the office network, enabling a business user at an off-site location
to use a Web browser for secure access to shared software applications.
The service, which eliminates the cost and complexity of installing
special client software or hardware at remote sites, is sold through
a national network of certified systems integrators, resellers and solutions
providers.
"Since the beginning of the year, a charter version of Netilla
Virtual Office service has been used very successfully by a number of
systems integrators and their customers in a variety of industries,"
said Netilla Networks CEO Reggie Best. "We've seen it contribute
to greater productivity, lower costs, increased workplace flexibility
and better responsiveness to customers in such areas as health care,
insurance, publishing, training, design and architecture.
"Now, with general availability, we expect that other types of
businesses also will join the roster," continued Best. "I
can't think of an industry in which businesses today could not benefit
from a secure, cost-effective way to allow employees, freelancers, partners,
suppliers and customers to remotely access office files, databases and
applications," he said.
"Our sales force and managers, who are located in seven sites
across the country, have found Netilla Virtual Office service to be
a tremendous tool for productivity," noted Matthew Prentice, director-Information
Systems, WestLake Internet Training, a Virginia-based provider of Web-development
training and a Netilla Networks' charter end user. "They're using
the service to access such critical applications as Saba Learning Enterprise
software for training and class planning, and Microsoft Great Plains
Business Solutions for internal accounting. And, administering the service
is a breeze," he added. "Web-enabling new applications and
adding new users are so easy to do."
Other end users of the service are currently utilizing it to Web-enable
applications for e-business development, network management and administration,
computer-aided design (CAD), graphic arts, personal organization and
diagram design. Those applications include such well-known software
names as ACT! (Interact Commerce), AutoCAD (Autodesk), Visio (Microsoft),
and Quickbooks (Intuit). Netilla Virtual Office service provides such
